These terms govern the learner sound bar competition and the school interactive whiteboard competition. The competition privacy notice forms part of these terms.
1 Promoter and contact
The promoter is Parrot Products (Pty) Ltd, 22 Cleveland Road, Cleveland, Johannesburg, South Africa. Competition enquiries and entries: Garreth@parrot.co.za. Telephone: +27 (0)10 140 4900. These terms and the privacy notice are available free of charge on request from that email address.
2 Competition dates
The competition opens at 00:00 SAST on 16 October 2026 and closes at 23:59 SAST on 15 January 2027. Qualifying purchases must be invoiced during this period and entry emails must be received by the closing time. Both draws take place on 29 January 2027. All times are South African Standard Time, UTC+2.
3 Who may enter
The competitions are open to learners resident in South Africa and schools operating in South Africa. A learner under 18 must be entered by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over, who accepts these terms and receives any prize on the learner’s behalf. A learner aged 18 or over may enter personally. A school must be entered by an adult authorised representative; any IWB is awarded to the school, not the representative.
Directors, members, partners, employees, agents and consultants of the promoter, its controlling or controlled entities, and suppliers of goods or services in connection with the competition, together with their spouses, life partners, business partners and immediate families, are excluded where required by section 36 of the Consumer Protection Act. An entry must not be made for an excluded person or used to confer a personal benefit on them.
4 Qualifying products and sellers
Qualifying products are the genuine Parrot BTS products identified by SKU in Annexure A. Purchases from any seller qualify, including Parrot Products, dealers, retailers and online sellers. Sellers do not have to register or obtain prior approval to participate. A marketplace purchase must identify the actual seller. The purchase and invoice must be genuine and independently verifiable.
All sellers may promote the competition and assist customers to find the rules. A seller does not become the promoter merely by selling qualifying products. A sale is not itself an entry: the learner, parent or guardian, or authorised school representative must email the invoice. The school draw is for the purchasing school; it is not a public nomination or voting competition. Purchases for resale do not qualify as learner or school end-user purchases.
5 Qualifying spend and entry allocation
Learner competition: one entry for every complete R500 of qualifying BTS product spend on an invoice. School competition: one entry for every complete R2,000 of qualifying BTS product spend on an invoice. Spend includes VAT where charged. Do not add VAT to an invoice from a seller that is not VAT registered.
Use the actual amount charged for qualifying products after discounts, returns and credits. Non-qualifying items and separately charged delivery, finance or installation fees do not count. Divide that qualifying value by R500 or R2,000 and round down to a whole number. Amounts below the first threshold earn no entry; remainders do not earn a partial entry.
6 Entry examples and invoice rules
| Competition | Qualifying invoice value including VAT | Entries |
| Learner | R500 / R1,000 / R1,500 / R1,750 | 1 / 2 / 3 / 3 |
| School | R2,000 / R4,000 / R6,000 / R5,000 | 1 / 2 / 3 / 2 |
Each invoice is submitted once and allocated to one learner or one purchasing school in one competition category. Resending an invoice does not create entries. Multiple genuine invoices may be submitted, but each invoice is assessed separately: invoices and their unused balances are not combined. A school invoice does not automatically enter a learner, and a learner invoice cannot be used to nominate a school.
7 How to submit an entry
Email a clear copy of the complete invoice to Garreth@parrot.co.za before the closing time. Use the subject BTS 2027 Learner Entry or BTS 2027 School Entry. Include the adult contact name, email address, telephone number, invoice number and chosen category. For a learner, include the learner’s name and confirmation of the entrant’s parental or guardianship authority where needed. For a school, include its name, town and representative’s authority to enter.
The invoice must show the seller, invoice date and number, identifiable qualifying products and the amount paid or charged. Keep the original invoice. Additional evidence may be requested solely to verify facts that establish eligibility under these terms. Quotes, pro forma invoices, duplicate, fabricated or cancelled transactions are not valid entries. Genuine purchases on agreed credit terms may qualify; no further purchase is required to claim a prize.
There is no separate entry fee or premium-rate communication charge. Parrot does not increase product prices to fund entry. Ordinary connectivity costs may apply. Sending an email or opening an email draft does not prove receipt. Entrants should retain their sent email and contact Garreth before closing if they need assistance. Parrot will not treat a missing acknowledgement as proof of ineligibility where timely receipt can be verified.
Fraudulent entries are invalid. A returned or credited purchase is reassessed using the retained qualifying value before prize entitlement is confirmed. Statutory refund and warranty rights remain unaffected. Parrot will give an entrant a reasonable opportunity to clarify a genuine discrepancy without allowing a new purchase or late entry to cure a missed deadline.
8 Prizes and selection
Learner prizes: three Parrot CT3017 Econo Sound Bars, awarded to three different winning learners, one sound bar each. Each learner may win a maximum of one sound bar regardless of the number of entries. After that learner is selected, their remaining entries are removed from further learner-prize selections.
School prize: exactly one Parrot HV-1683A 78-inch Interactive Whiteboard, awarded to exactly one winning school. There are not multiple school winners or one IWB per branch. The school takes ownership through its authorised representative.
Winners are selected at random from separate validated learner and school entry pools on 29 January 2027. Each allocated entry has an equal chance within its pool. More valid entries increase the chance of selection but do not guarantee a prize. An independent accountant, registered auditor, attorney or advocate will oversee and certify the competition. No entrant must attend the draw or pay a prize-release fee.
9 IWB installation and prize fulfilment
Installation of the IWB is included if the winning school’s installation premises are within a 60 km radius of any Parrot Products branch. Radius means straight-line distance, not driving distance, measured between the branch premises and the school premises. Parrot will verify the distance using a mapping tool and share the measurement with the school on request. A reseller’s premises do not count as a Parrot Products branch unless they are also an official branch listed in Parrot’s published branch directory.
Included installation means standard mounting and setup of the awarded board at one suitable location at the school, arranged by appointment. The school must provide safe access, an appropriate wall and any equipment needed to use the board. The IWB prize does not include a data projector. Included installation applies to the board only and does not include a data projector. A computer, electrical work, structural alterations, network cabling and training are not included unless Parrot confirms them in writing as additional benefits.
A school outside the 60 km radius remains eligible to win and receive the IWB. Installation outside the radius is not included. The school may arrange its own suitable installer or request an optional quotation; accepting or paying for optional installation is not a condition of receiving the board. An unsuitable site or inability to agree an installation appointment does not remove the school’s entitlement to the board.
Parrot will arrange delivery of prizes within South Africa without a prize-release or delivery fee, using verified delivery details. Delivery and qualifying standard installation will be scheduled with the winner, with a target of 30 business days after eligibility and delivery details are verified. Parrot will communicate any delay and agree a reasonable alternative date. Product warranty rights apply. Prizes are not redeemable for cash or transferable at an entrant’s request.
10 Contacting winners and redraws
Parrot will contact selected entrants using the email address and telephone number supplied. Entrants must respond within seven business days of the first successful written notification and supply reasonable eligibility and delivery verification. Parrot will attempt contact on at least three occasions across available channels before treating a selected entrant as uncontactable.
If a selected entry is ineligible, is fraudulent, is declined, or remains unclaimed after the stated contact process, Parrot may select an eligible replacement under the same independent oversight and retain the reasons. An eligible winner who responds in time will not lose a prize solely because Parrot is still completing verification or scheduling fulfilment.
11 Privacy publicity and consumer rights
Entry does not require consent to advertising, photographs, interviews, social posts or event attendance. Any publicity involving an adult requires separate permission; publicity involving a child also requires the appropriate parent or guardian permission. Refusal does not affect eligibility or prize receipt. Winner confirmation and any lawful results disclosure will respect the privacy notice and applicable law.
These terms do not exclude rights or remedies under the Consumer Protection Act, POPIA or other applicable law. Parrot may correct an obvious error or make a legally necessary change fairly, with notice through the same campaign channels; accrued entry and prize rights will not be removed unfairly. No blanket waiver of liability or unilateral right to cancel valid prizes applies. Complaints may be sent to Garreth and may also be referred to the relevant regulator or court. South African law applies.
Annexure A qualifying BTS product codes
These 167 SKUs identify the qualifying BTS range. Only the genuine Parrot product corresponding to a listed SKU qualifies. Match the invoice description or product evidence to this list; a seller’s omission of the Parrot SKU does not itself invalidate an otherwise verifiable genuine purchase.

Pack sizes and product specifications remain those of the product purchased. Prices may differ between sellers. The competition uses the actual qualifying invoice value under the spend rules, not a separate competition price list.
